The Portugal captain struck in the 66th, 72nd and 81st minutes, taking his official career tally to 985 goals and leaving him 15 short of the historic milestone.
Ronaldo remains football’s leading scorer, 49 goals ahead of Lionel Messi, who has 936.
The milestone came after France Football named Ronaldo the inaugural winner of its fan-voted Ballon D’Or of All Time (BOAT) award.
Fans chose his 2008 campaign with Manchester United as the greatest Ballon D’Or winning season, ahead of Messi’s record breaking 91 goal year in 2012.
